New to East Coast Spearfishing scene. Looking for clubs and charters.

Hello,

My name is Alex.
I am originally from the State of Hawaii. Currently live on the Eastern Shore of VA.
I have been finding it particularly hard to find dive spots like I would back home.

Can you dive from shore , or do you have to have a friend with a boat?
I have been told to go down to Wilmington N.C. And I would find what I am looking for.
I have also heard you have to go 20+ miles of shore for good visibility. Is this true?

I am interested to hear some opinions on what everybody does for diving on the Atlantic Coast.
I have a 3.5 mm wetsuit and all the gear.



Would like to meet some people who are interested in meeting and could provide me with a good idea of where they go for charters and if there are any clubs that do meetings and trainings to stay current and be able to meet new dive partners while diving safe.
